Abhayangha
Abhayangha is a traditional Ayurvedic massage technique that involves the use of warm herbal oils. It is a form of therapeutic massage that is believed to have numerous health benefits, both physical and mental.
Abhayangha is typically performed with the patient lying on a massage table or mat, and the therapist applies warm oil to the patient’s skin using long strokes and circular movements. The oil is typically chosen based on the patient’s dosha (constitution), and the massage technique is customized to the patient’s specific needs.
Some of the reported benefits of Abhayangha include increased circulation, improved digestion, relief from muscle tension and stiffness, enhanced immune function, and reduced stress and anxiety. It is also believed to improve the overall health and well-being of the individual.
Abhayangha is often recommended as a part of Panchakarma, a traditional Ayurvedic detoxification and rejuvenation program. However, it can also be enjoyed as a standalone therapy for relaxation and stress relief.
